PWHF supporting Game-guards of the Asiatic Cheetah habitat

For the fifth consecutive year,  at the September  2014, Conservation of the Asiatic Cheetah Project (CACP) organised educational-recreational annual tours for eminent Game-guards of the Asiatic Cheetah habitat. The main purposes of the tours was to increase game-guards’ motivation, encourage the exchange of regional knowledge and recognize the diverse ecosystems of Iran.

This year twelve game-guards attended. After meeting the Department of Environment (DOE) Deputy Head of Natural Environment at the DOE headquarters, the game-guards headed to Semnan province, Touran Biosphere Reserve, and the Onager and Asiatic Cheetah research center. They also went for a sightseeing tour of Neishabur and visited the holy city of Mashhad. The game-guards also participated in ceremonies held by various NGO’s from Khorasan province in gratitude for their dedication. Visiting National Parks, selective Cheetah habitats and wildlife reserves were other parts of the week-long tour.
