The Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation’s football team plays in the Ramezan cup, to promote the conservation of the Asiatic Black Bear

PWHF’s team in collaboration with  Kanoon Mohitban, and with the financial support of the Barez Group is trying to promote environmental awareness among people of Kahnouj, Kerman. The team plays in Kahnouj and other communities in the province that are in Black Bear habitat. The most important threat to the Asiatic Black Bear in Iran is a result of the conflict with local people, as the bear comes to their gardens to eat fruit and sometimes even attacks their herds of sheep. In order to minimize this kind of conflict and/or to mitigate the damage, local people must be better educated and be taught to have a heightened sense of  environmental awareness.
