Cheetah Game wardens workshop in Yazd

The PWHF and The Iranian Cheetah Society (ICS) participated and collaborated in a workshop organized by the Conservation of the Asiatic Cheetah Project (CACP) for game wardens of Yazd, Isfahan, South Khorasan and Kerman Provinces.
In this workshop, which was held on January 7th, 2015 in the district governor’s office in Kharanagh, Yazd Province, an expert on mammals from the wildlife bureau of the DOE, the general manager of Yazd Province, the representative of the district governor of Kharanagh, the deputy- manager of iron ore quarry in Bafq, and game guards and heads of DOE regional offices in Bafq mountain, Naybandan of Tabbas, Dare- Anjir, Siah Kouh of Ardakan, Mehriz, Abass Abad of Naiin, and Darband of Ravar participated.
The PWHF representatives presented a report on our activities in the past year in fulfilling their part of responsibilities in the second phase of the international project to conserve Asiatic Cheetah, in particular our activities undertaken in Turan Biosphere Reserve. In the workshop, the PWHF experts heard the viewpoints and suggestions of the game guards with regard to ways of solving various problems we are facing in conservation of the Asiatic Cheetah for the coming year. These viewpoints and suggestions will be used to formulate the action plan of 2015 by the management of the CACP and other parties involved.
