Cheetah Day

Due to the efforts of environmental activists in the past few years, the 31st of August is known today as the National Cheetah Day. This day is a good pretext to raise public awareness on the status of the Asiatic cheetah which today remains only in Iran. In 2013 different groups planned activities for this day and organized a fare with educational goals in Tehran’s Eram Zoo on the 29th and 30th of August. The Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation decided to have broader awareness raising programs. Our billboards were displayed in different of Tehran and our teaser especially produced for this event was shown in the cars of Tehran’s metro and in different branches of Parsian Bank and Karafarin Bank for 10 days. This project took place with the collaboration of Tehran Municipality’s environmental cluster and the friendly collaboration of Ide Gostar, the Foundation’s supportive designer and producer. This step was taken to increase the level of public awareness on the endangered Asiatic cheetah.
